The Hotel

Novotel Newcastle Airport. A 4 Star Hotel, although not really an Airport or Airport hotel. Situated just off the A1, North of the City and the River Tyne, just a stones through from Gosforth Park.

On Arrival

On what was a work stay over, most of my colleagues, who booked earlier than myself booked the Holiday Inn central to the city, bemoaning it was a great deal booking by the company and a price that couldn’t be beaten.
Company Budget was £99 Do you want to make your colleagues jealous – for £8 less, I booked via my All Accor app and was greeted by the following on Arrival.

Might I add, the £8 saving I mentioned. Also afforded me to, as only a Classic Member, to obtain an Executive room upgrade, as well as a treasure trove of luxuries. Oh and did I mention FREE Breakfast too.

All of the above was shared at the meeting in Newcastle, the following morning.

* The Mini Fridge is / was all complimentary. How good is that ! The Wispa did not last long and the cold sparkling water was a nice treat for arriving at the meeting, the following morning.

The Bedroom & Bed + Sleep Quality

So if you have never booked a Novotel before, you might not know, most if not all rooms have a Queen Size bed. I have also yet to experience the, often found in most hotels, two singles pushed together feeling too.
And these, frankly intelligent, soft and firm in one pillow..

A good nights sleep is guaranteed. I admit, I was on the top floor, in the further corner away from the lift which, aided my sleep. But the room was quiet, as was the Executive rooms section too.

Dining In – Breakfast

An Excellent Breakfast Buffet – even for a 7am wake up call.
Hot food was on the buffet and due to the time of arrival, plentiful, piping hot and boasted a full English. Even Black Pudding. No Pictures taken – but the open plan Restaurant and buffet area worked very well.
I managed to bag a red apple for later too.

The Cost

£90.80

The Ever Lasting Memory

Hotel Boasts leisure facilities including small pool, which I was able to use during my stay. (With free robe and slipper due to the room type too.) Due to the price, and upgrade costs, it wouldn’t be fair for me to say anything but …
I chose Novotel for a reason.

The Verdict

★★★★☆  4 Star Hotel, 4 Star Review and one happy hotel stay with the added bonus of making colleagues jealous.
