The area of Leicester has taken a beating in 2020, with bad press for multiple reasons. However, Leicester and Leicestershire is not only my home. But is home to some of the most breathtaking locations, amazing history and historical landmarks and fabulous hotels and places to stay.
If you want to visit Leicestershire, this list of 5 fabulous Hotels is for you…
1. SKETCHLEY GRANGE HOTEL, BURBAGE, HINCKLEY

Recommended because it has my heart and memories.
Almost unrecognisable as the hotel I started my career in. What was then a small 3 star hotel with no gym, became almost over night a 4 Star Luxury Hotel with Health Club and extra rooms. Since then the Hotel has gone through further changes with an extension and an additional banquet space.
The hotel has something for everyone, suitable for business, romantics breaks, spa breaks, fine dining, it literally has everything. Rooms of all shapes, sizes and types including standard doubles to brand new suites.
And lets not forget the iconic Romans Health Club with that swimming pool, yes, you can see it above. I love this hotel and you undoubtedly will too.
The Historic Battlefield in Market Bosworth is a short drive from the hotel too, so you can take in some touristy bits while you stay over.
2. THE SNUG, HOTHORPE HALL, THEDDINGWORTH

Recommended because it’s tucked away in 13 acres of beautiful woodland
If you want an older historical, heritage house stay, then Book Hothorpe Hall itself.
But for me and my recommendation, it’s all about the woodland lodges called The Snug. These five self catering snugs offer couples or families two bedrooms with ensuite showers, two sofas and a central well packed kitchen. With ample space outside to BBQ.
Located a short drive from Foxton Locks, and Home of Stilton & Pork Pie aka Melton Mowbray, as well as some wonderful smaller villages, like Welford.
Oh and if that’s not unique enough for you – go ahead book the Tree House !!

3. CHAMPNEYS SPRINGS, ASHBY DE-LA-ZOUCH
Recommended because its the innovator of what Spa Breaks are…
Synonymous for Spa Breaks and luxury treatments. Don’t let the DE postcode fool you, Champney Springs is most definitely a fabulous place to visit or stay, most definitely in Leicestershire.
Off the beaten track, a stones through from the red brick legends of Ibstock, near the family favourite of CONKERS, and Twycross Zoo is just as close too. Positioned south of the town Ashby De-La-Zouch itself, famed for a name you can’t forget and its ruined fortification castle.
Champneys Luxury Health & Spa Club has 31 acres of beautiful open parkland, a few lakes, more facilities than could ever be posted here and a full size football pitch to boot.
4. THE MANOR HOUSE AT QUORN, LOUGHBOROUGH

Recommended because the quirky bedrooms are as good as the food
Dare to say this is a pub with rooms. But let’s be honest it is actually, a very good Gastro pub with Luxury Boutique bedrooms. And Food that will be liked on Instagram for years.
Quorn, just outside Loughborough, has more pubs and hotels that some cities, but this is the pick of the bunch.
Don’t just take my word for it…
5. KILWORTH HOUSE, LUTTERWORTH

Recommended because it goes beyond just a place to say
Yes its a place to stay, Yes its a stunningly restored Victorian family home, Yes it’s a luxury Hotel.
So why is the picture of a Theatre.
The theatre is rated as the number 1 attraction on trip advisor for Leicestershire. They put on sell out theatre shows, you would think should be performed in the West End.
It goes beyond a place to stay. With it’s 2 rosettes, multiple restaurants and an afternoon tea, that is out of this world.
THIS is a fabulous hotel in Leicestershire, to stay over or visit and much much more …

Great article.
Champneys Springs is one of my favourites. It’s so peaceful. I went with a friend for a girly day away and will definitely be going again in the future. Also recently visited Ashby De La Zouch Castle not far from here, a few weeks ago. Well worth a little visit 🙂
I live in Leicestershire, so don’t really need to visit hotels here, but wow, they look amazing and I’m considering checking two of them lol 😀
